I have a strong passion for learning and teaching te reo Māori in schools and at home with my own whānau. Te reo club is an absolute taonga filled with endless possibilities for giving our tamariki the gift of te reo Māori all kiwi kids deserve. The resources are simple to use, fun for everyone and look amazing! I think one of the best things about the website is the fact that it keeps growing. New resources are always popping up and on top of that, if we are doing a particular kaupapa or would like to try a type of resource, Michele always helps! I have had lots of teachers from my kura email her asking for different things and she is always so happy to help. From a Catholic perespective Michele is also so open to accommodating this into resources also, with a special section dedicated to Catholic resources which is also always evolving and growing. The Te Reo Club resources are fun for tamariki, easily accessible and provide a wide range of activities for all Primary age students. The activities are hands on, fun and make wonderful class displays. There are a wide range of topics for teachers to choose from. I highly recommend Te Reo club for all teachers and Primary Schools. The resources not only build our confidence and capabilities in teaching te reo Māori but also support us to meet our Treaty obligations in our daily work. I have had the opportunity to work with Michele through several Professional Development courses and now with a subscription to te reo club. I have always found Michele warm and approachable and have felt comfortable to ask her questions and seek advice. She is incredibly practical and considered in catering her ideas to my class or my specific school setting. l would whole heartedly recommend Michele’s PD to help anyone incorporate more te reo Māori in their space (home, school, class). She helps break down ‘walls’ and encourages teachers to embrace reo and incorporate more of Te ao Māori. She delivers her ideas, activities and resources in a positive, encouraging and really ‘useable’ way. I’m a fan!
